ASA specialist department

FCOS has set up the ASA specialist department as a point of contact for all questions relating to the ASA system. The ASA specialist department provides experts and non-specialists with customised answers on the topic. It is continuously involved in the further development of the ASA system and ensures that it is of a high standard. The ASA specialist department also supervises the industry-wide ASA solutions and supports implementation bodies in their control activities.

Sponsors of industry-wide ASA solutions

The ASA specialist department coordinates the standardised certification/recertification of industry-wide ASA solutions. It advises and supports the sponsors of industry-wide ASA solutions in implementing the requirements. To this end, it works together with selected representatives of the implementation bodies (industry advisers and specialists).

Industry advisers and specialists

The specialist department develops guidelines and tools for a standardised approach for sector advisers and specialists. It also regularly organises conferences for the sharing of experience.

Implementation bodies

The ASA specialist department develops concepts, guidelines and tools for the uniform monitoring and advisory activities of the implementation bodies. It also provides further education and training courses for the implementation bodies on behalf of FCOS.

The ASA specialist department issues information on the implementation of FCOS Directive 6508 “ASA Directive" and in response to general occupational safety enquiries.

Expert societies

The specialist department provides information, develops tools and liaises closely with the expert societies of occupational safety specialists.

The head of the ASA specialist department chairs the Expert Committee 22 ASA.
