Who can I contact if I have any questions or concerns?

If you notice any irregularities in the area of occupational safety in your company, ask your line manager to rectify them. If this does not work or if you have further questions about occupational safety, please contact the responsible implementation body.

Cantonal labour inspectorates

The cantonal labour inspectorates are responsible for:


Suva

Suva is responsible for:

  • the enforcement of the Accident Insurance Act (UVG) in enterprises with special hazards and for defined work equipment. It is responsible, inter alia, for enterprises in the main construction trade, construction, building envelope, the wood industry, the chemical industry, the machinery, metal and watch industry and transport enterprises.
  • the application of the rules on the prevention of occupational diseases in all enterprises.
  • occupational health prevention.

SECO

SECO is responsible for:

  • the enforcement of the Accident Insurance Act (UVG) in federal enterprises, insofar as this is not the responsibility of Suva.
  • supervision in the areas of occupational health and safety under the Labour Act (ArG), occupational health and safety under the various procedures under the Chemicals Act (ChemG), safety of technical installations and equipment under the Product Safety Act (PrSG). In these areas, it also performs certain enforcement tasks.
