Rights of employees

The rights of employees are set out in the Employment Act (ArG), the Accident Insurance Act (UVG) and the Participation Act.

Obligations of employees

In addition to their rights, employees also have obligations:

Employees must follow the employer’s instructions on matters of occupational safety, use personal protective equipment and not impair the effectiveness of protective equipment. They must not render themselves in a condition that endangers themselves or other employees (this specifically refers to the consumption of alcohol and other intoxicating substances) (VUV Art. 11; ArGV 3 Art. 10).
