Tasks of FCOS
FCOS ensures standardised and effective preventative activities in occupational safety. It also coordinates enforcement measures by the implementation bodies, thereby avoiding duplication and utilising the available resources efficiently. In order to fulfil its duties, it may also submit suggestions to the Federal Council for the enactment of regulations relating to occupational safety.
Coordination
FCOS:
- coordinates enforcement measures by the implementation bodies
- determines the implementation procedure of the implementation bodies
- ensures the uniform application of regulations on the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases in companies
- issues directives
- promotes the application of the APO with other decrees
- promotes collaboration and connectivity with partners
Information
FCOS:
- conducts safety programmes throughout Switzerland
- keeps the implementation bodies and companies informed on the subject of occupational health and safety
Promotion of education and further training
FCOS:
- promotes the training and further education of implementation bodies
- organises and coordinates the further education and training of occupational safety specialists
Resource allocation
FCOS:
- pays the implementation bodies for their prevention activities in accordance with the service agreement
